These are used in everyday life in our villages mostly in north India. interestingly what people usually call ‘ Nazar Utarna ‘ is a Shabar mantra prayog only. These mantras usually deal with common problems in kids like, jaundice, measles etc. If somebody tells you the mantra on a specific day, which is usually a full moon or an eclipse, you can use it immediately afterwards. It means you don’t need to do any sadhana to invoke them. However later many more Shabar mantras were composed by other saints, both Hindu and Muslims. These mantras trace their origin to Guru Gorakhnath. Shabar mantras are mostly written in local languages and dialects. Then Shiva told him that he is not nailing Shabar Mantras and these will remain ‘ Swayam Siddha ‘ even in Kaliyuga. Then Narad asked him, how then will common people fight miseries, deceases etc. We have read that, before the start of Kaliyuga, Lord Shiva nailed Tantra saying that people will misuse it in Kaliyuga.
